Western Region Development Council

In September 2004, under the directive of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Executive Council, the initial phase of the social and economic development plan was launched for Al Gharbia, Western Region of Abu Dhabi Emirate.

The initiative focused on overseeing four key development objectives:

Assess government service level in Al Gharbia and identify improvement initiatives
Develop a new governance model for Al Gharbia
Oversee implementation of services improvement initiatives
Oversee implementation of new governance model
